Wastelanders Series

Page history last edited by Kyle 2 wks ago

Kyle's Wastelander games, more formally known as Fat Man or Crimson Fall. Each had multiple spinoffs,

but altogether belong under the following titles.

As of November 10th, 2009, Kyle has stated interest in redoing Fat Man. Details are very minimal at the moment,

but it will most likely follow the prior formula of a Wastelander game, with choice adjustments to satisfy all of the

players.

The Games

Fat Man: A Post-Apocalyptic Game

Fat Man was the original concept of building a ragtag group of men and women living in the wastelands of alternate-history post-apocalyptic

Wisconsin, USA. Players found themselves battling mutants and radioactive zombies, and in some cases, each other.

Crimson Fall

Crimson Fall was a second shot at the genre. Players built up their factions and were tasked in destroying an enemy faction,

the USRF (United States Reclamation Forces), who were plotting armageddon on the people of the wasteland. Players worked

together and fought bravely up to a point which interest in the game faded and questions left unanswered.

Common Wastelanders Elements

All of the games featured "Faction Building", where you create your own small army and role play them in game.

Players also had to work together and follow guidelines to keep the story favorable. An important element was

restrictions on the actual weaponry the players could use with their factions - only guns that appeared on a

"Weapons Sheet" were able to be used.

The Future of the Wastelanders Series

Currently there are no future games planned; massive stores of information and gameplay guides are ready-to-play,

meaning that they could be used at any moment. The Kingdoms board contains this information.

As of October 2009, Kyle stated he would not run another of these games, instead choosing to focus on different

aspects of the Post-Apocalyptic Genre. Let Wastelanders rest in peace, in the gardens of Freemont.
